What do all those letters mean?

If you look at the staff list, you will see that a number of us have "letters" after our names.  They have different meanings dependent on people's qualifications - here is what they stand for:-

MRCVS:  Represents that the individual is a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and entitled to practice in the UK.  Its stands for 'Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons'  (RCVS)  - the governing body of the UK vets.  Find out about the RCVS www.rcvs.org.uk

RVN:  Stands for 'Registered Veterinary Nurse' - each individual has completed the training and passed the relevant practical and theoretical examinations required to become a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse, and are listed by the RCVS on a register as competent in their role.  Further information on RVNs can be found on both the RCVS website www.rcvs.org.uk and also the BVNA website www.bvna.org.uk

SVN:  Student Veterinary Nurse

ANA: Animal Nursing Assistant

MMAA:  Member of McTimoney Animal Association

Veterinary Degrees:  Differ dependent on which veterinary school a vet qualified from - all are qualifications to an equivalent standard:-
