Brentknoll Veterinary Centre are happy to work in conjunction with a new out-of-hours service, and can recommend that should you need to bring your pet to see a veterinary surgeon outside our normal practice opening hours - this service will be provided by Vets Now - who will be offering a pet A&E service from our premises.
You will not need to travel to a different practice, or even find it during the stressful time of when your pet is ill and needs to be seen quickly.
Our overnight telephone ansaphone message will provide the Vets Now contact number - which is 01905 780404 - telephone the veterinary staff on duty, who will be happy to give advice over the telephone and will be able to tell you if they think it is safe for your pet to wait until the morning to come and see us. However, they will be on duty to provide veterinary advice and treatment as appropriate.
You may be asking if the Vets Now staff will provide a House Visit? These are occasionally necessary, but in nearly all situations the best possible care and treatment for your pet is at their clinic, in the premises shown above. Bringing your pet into the practice ensures they have access to the drugs and equipment they need to begin treatment. If you do need to attend the clinic and your pet is on regular medication, please bring this in with you.
How do you pay for the Out-of-Hours Service? Payment is to be made at the time of treatment - direct to the Vets Now veterinary team; they will accept cash, credit and debit cards. If your pet is insured this may cover the costs incurred.
The opening times of the out-of-hours service will commence at the end of our normal clinic hours:-
Monday - Friday at 1900 hrs through to 0800 hrs the next morning
Saturday - Sunday (and Bank Holidays) at 1830 hrs through to the practice's usual opening times the next day

Here at Brentknoll we are able to offer up-to-date and modern facilities, complimented by a highly motivated and knowledgeable veterinary team.
Home visits are available, during our normal clinic hours - however it should be borne in mind that it may be impossible for the vet to visit you if that particular clinic is already really busy; on these occasions it would be beneficial for you to bring your pet into the surgery.
Our nurses welcome the opportunity to help you maintain the health of your much loved pet, and are more than happy to help you with ensuring your pet gets their worming tablet or flea treatments regularly - they are not always the easiest thing to administer!
As well as helping clients within the practice, our nurses aim to provide the local community with advice and information on the correct care and welfare of animals. They achieve this by doing talks in local schools and at local school fetes.
laboratory system, which enables to get efficient results for the majority of tests we need to carry out on your pets. For those tests which we need a much more detailed result, we forward samples (on a daily basis) to an outside laboratory who in turn endeavours to get the results to us as quickly as possible.
Any x-ray that we need to consult, is taken in our x-ray suite, with the plates being developed in-house - again to ensure a quick and speedy conclusion to enable us to give you as much information as possible.
