History

The practice was established at 152 Bath Road, Worcester in October 1993, taking over from a 'one man band' surgery, run by Leslie Arnall MRCVS whom had been working in Worcester since 1972.

The surgery gets its name from the plot of land 'Brentknoll' that it was built on in Bath Road.  This always confuses people from Bristol and the south west as Brentknoll Village and 'tump' are in North Somerset by the M5 motorway.

The practice started as David Fisher and two untrained nurse/receptionists to current staffing of four vets and over 20 staff in total.  We have been for some years a Veterinary Nurse training centre and now a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons training practice.

The practice has grown from our commitment to a personal caring service for your pets, and a lot of hard work from a large number of staff over the years.

In 2003 we were looking for new premises to expand too, as our Bath Road surgery was always full of staff, animals and very busy people.  We found the site at Whittington in 2004 and received planning permission later that year.  It had been a residential home with a business selling swimming pools and hot tubs.  The house was always famous for its christmas lights, which were the most extensive of any house in Worcester at that time.  Coaches coming to the Christmas Fayre would stop outside so people could take photographs!

We were lucky with the facilities we bought.  The practice has a swimming pool and a converted hydrotherapy pool, a tennis court and a sauna!

Smart_Car_1The conversion was extensive with major internal adjustments to provide a well thought out, practical consulting and treatment areas for your animals.  Separate dog, cat and rabbit wards - together with air conditioning throughout .... a lovely working environment.

We have changed from initially doing just first opinion work to including referral work looking after dogs and cats referred in from other practices for heart, lung and medical problems, to complex cancer cases and complex surgical cases.

We have a well used hydrotherapy pool and offer McTimoney manipulation for animals that need more than drug therapy for spine and leg problems, but for which surgery is not available or appropriate.

We recently celebrated 15 years of working in Worcester in October 2008, photos of which can been seen in the news section.
