Did you know?
The title ‘veterinary nurse’ is not protected, and therefore anyone, even if they lack the relevant training and education, can refer to themselves as a veterinary nurse. Which means non-qualified and untrained members of staff are able to call themselves Nurses and participate in surgery and other important animal care duties. Here at Brentknoll Vets those responsible for looking after your pet during anesthetics, in post op recovery and offering advice in Nurse clinics; are always fully qualified and are monitored by the RCVS (Royal college of veterinary surgeons) .
Our nurses are more than happy to help you make sure your pet gets their worming tablet or flea treatments regularly too – from wriggly puppies to hissing cats, not all pets love these – we know they aren’t always the easiest things to administer!
How much does a Nurse consultation cost?
Vet Nurse visits are significantly cheaper than Veterinary Surgeons, however there are restrictions to what they are allowed to do. If your pet is unwell he/she should always see the Vet for a full assessment and to discuss treatment; however our wonderful nurses are more than happy to offer the following;
Nail Trims* – £13.66
Anal gland emptying (dogs only) – £13.66
Routine neutering post operative checks – FREE
Super Smilers dental check (including brushing) – £5.20
Weight Watchers and diet advice – FREE
Administering flea/wormer – FREE (excludes cost of medication)
