Brentknoll Veterinary Centre started in October 1993, after being taken over from a 'one-man band' surgery, run by local vet Leslie Arnall MRCVS, who worked in Worcester 1972. At that time the centre's premises were in Bath Road.

The name came from the plot of land it was built on – called "Brentknoll". Not to be confused with Brent Knoll, the well known landmark hill on the Somerset Levels, just by the M5!

Brentknoll Vets started with just one vet and two untrained nurse/receptionists. Today, we have six vets, even more vet nurses – and over 25 staff in total.

The practice grew fast and by 2004, the Bath Road surgery was full to bursting! There were pets, customers and very busy people everywhere. We needed more space…

We moved to our current premises at Whittington Road in 2005.

Previously, it was a private house, with a business selling swimming pools and hot tubs.

It's no surprise that today we have a swimming pool, a converted hydrotherapy pool and a sauna – and have developed special treatments taking advantage of all these facilities.

At the time, the building was famous for its Christmas lights, which were the most extensive of any house in Worcester. Coaches coming to the Christmas Fayre would stop outside so people could take photographs – our clients had no trouble finding us when we moved!

The substantial conversion work carried out then has given us today first class facilities – with practical consulting and treatment areas for your pets, including separate dog, cat and rabbit wards – together with air conditioning throughout … It's also a lovely working environment, which helps us work effectively.

We are also a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons approved training practice for vet nurses, training the next generation of caring professionals to exceptionally high standards.

Our specialist expertise is also recognised by other vet practices and our Referral Practice looks after a considerable number of dogs and cats referred for specialist treatment for heart, lung and medical problems, along with complex cancer cases and advanced surgery.

As well as our hydrotherapy pool, we provide McTimoney Chiropractor treatment for pets who need specialist therapy for spine and leg problems and when surgery is not appropriate.

In 2018 we celebrated 25 years caring for your pets in Worcester and right across the local area. We joined the Linnaeus family in August 2018 which has allowed us to expand our services and also tap in to nationwide facilities.

We've grown out of all recognition, but we are still the same dedicated, professional and caring team, committed to providing the very best care and treatment for your pets.
